Research highlights

  • Pavel Plevka Lab of Structural Virology

High-resolution cryo-electron microscopy reconstruction of Staphylococcus aureusbacteriophage P68 from the family Podoviridae. P68 has potential to be used for phage therapy.

  • Richard Štefl Lab of Structural Biology

NMR structure shows how the CTD-interacting domain of Rtt103p recognizes threonine-4 phosphorylated CTD of RNA polymerase II (RNAPII). This study suggests that the CTD code of RNAP II is degenerated as the same interaction pocket of Rtt103p can read two different phosphorylation patterns of the CTD using the same structural mechanism.
