The Nobel Prize in Chemistry 2017 was awarded to Jacques Dubochet, Joachim Frank, and Richard Henderson "for developing cryo-electron microscopy for the high-resolution structure determination of biomolecules in solution".

2nd iNEXT Annual Users Meeting

The 2nd iNEXT Annual Users Meeting took place on 22^nd-24^th May 2017, in Brno (Czech Republic). The venue was the “BEST WESTERN PREMIER Hotel International Brno”, in the very center of the second largest city of the Czech Republic, where Gregor Mendel conducted his groundbreaking experiments and established a new scientific field of genetics.

The 3rd Instruct Biennial Structural Biology Conference

The 3^rd Instruct Biennial Structural Biology Conference took place in Brno, Czech Republic, from May 24 to May 26, 2017 hosted by Instruct-CZ/CEITEC. Brno is the city of Johann Gregor Mendel, a founder of modern genetics and one of the first scientists who applied a multidisciplinary approach to explain his observations. The social programme of the meeting included a visit to the Mendel’s Museum and dinner at the Augustinian Abbey, where Mendel worked and lived.
