Professor Richard Ernst, a Nobel Prize laureate 1991 in Chemistry for his contributions to the development of the methodology of high resolution nuclear magnetic resonance (NMR) spectroscopy and one of the most influential chemists and spectroscopist of past decades, died last Friday in his care home in Winterthur. He had a stroke two weeks ago. Pavel Kadeřávek became the new head of the Josef Dadok National NMR Centre on 1 July. Pavel has a scientific background in NMR methodology development, study of biomolecule dynamics, characterization of minority states of biomolecules and IDPs.
