Linux Workshop

At this workshop, you’ll learn about essential commands and techniques for working in Linux. These skills will transfer across most common Linux distributions and other UNIX-based operating systems, such as macOS even Linux subsystem in Windows.

First round of workshop will be in Czech only! In the future, there will be workshop in English as well.

This workshop doesn’t require any previous experience.

It's good to bring your own laptop with any kind of operating system (Windows, Linux, macOS). There are few laptops available to borrow, if you don't have yours. We’ll also serve snacks and refreshments during break, as well as give away a few of cool swag!

You’ll learn the following in this course:

  • What is GNU/Linux?
  • Overview and introduction to Linux command line.
  • Access the command line.
  • Manage files from the command line.
  • Create, view, and edit text files.
  • Manage local Linux users and groups.
  • Monitor and manage Linux processes.
  • Install and update software.

There is no registration fee for the course.
